First things first… here are some pics of the lunar eclipse from this morning. A couple of things: I woke up way too early to take these horrible pics. Also, Orlando isn’t the best place to view astronomical events of this nature. It’s just way too bright. I know what you’re thinking… “duh, Juls.” Furthermore, FL weather was not cooperating. I actually had to take the pics in my car because my lens kept fogging up (this deserves another “duh, Juls”). If you can imagine me in my car trying to set up the tripod in between the dashboard and the steering wheel, you’d get an idea of how much work it took me to get a picture of what could be a stop light out of focus. And I had to keep hitting the wiper blade because of the condensation on the windshield.

Anyway, the day got better when I read this comment from Kamy:

At first, I just thought it was some silly comment, but then I found this. Apparently cats are emo? I mean, now that I think of it…

But wait, the excitement doesn’t stop there. I was watching the L-Word when I got an email telling me that I’m now a Gawker Artist. For the unfamiliar, Gawker Artists have their artwork displayed through rotating banner ads on participating sites. I never noticed them before until a friend suggested I submit my stuff. I always just thought they were some sort of hipster blog ad I was unaware of. Turns out that they just display artwork. Fun stuff, yeah? Anyway, if anybody sees my work come up, can you take a screenshot and send it to me? I’d appreciate it immensely. Until then, I’m going to hit refresh until I see it myself.

So… seriously…my cat illustrations are emo?
