Ball Pit vs. The Internets
September 13th, 2007I think I’m famous now. You see, our local paper, the Orlando Sentinel, wrote a little article about all the shenanigans that have been occurring at work. Please make sure you check the video out. Go ahead and take a second to check it out, then let me know when you get back.
Back? Okay, well… it was linked from Kotaku as well. Being an article about EA, the typical anti-EA commenters came out in force to express their dislike for my workplace and the products we create. To them, I have this response: I completely understand why people get so emotional at the thought of EA/Madden. I mean, I have my own prejudices for certain occupations. (For example: those douchebags that club seals? Jerks.) What I don’t get is the fact that my game comes out every year, and every year you get the chance to flame away when there are blog posts about its release. That’s fine. In fact, there are many levels where I probably agree with you. But this article wasn’t really about the studio, or the games we make, it was about some cool stuff the employees have been up to. With this in mind, I have this to say to those people who came out to talk ess about the friggin ball pit article: “Hey, d-bags, talk all the trash you want about whatever game you don’t like, but come on, how sweet was that dive?”

I agree. Regardless of what games you guys make, the article was about a sweet ballpit and a super drywall door attack.
Not to mention that those people bitching…it’s not like you guys can see their complaints and be like “well, I guess we better stop making madden games now, turn off the robots!” You make the games that the company sells…
