PBS vs Flickr

November 4th, 2007

I found a link on reddit.com about the anti-war rallies that were going on last weekend (OMG I saw Sen Mike Gravel).

I took some pictures and posted them on Flickr. I got an email a few days later asking for permission to use it for a PBS news piece. Then, after getting over the excitement that a photo I took was used on PBS (holy crap am I famous now?!!? OMG PBS is hardcore of course I’m famous), I started realizing how my picture ended up there. The set was found on Flickr, and then I found the link on reddit. After clicking on the link instantly knew that this article was the same one that wanted to use my picture because I google’d the name of the person who asked for permission. Of course, in today’s context it isn’t that hardcore… but still. The world grows increasingly flatter.
